Gulab Jamun - Sweet dish

       Gulab Jamun is Indian Traditional Sweet... made at the time of festivals.... Its absolutely an melt- in- mouth favourite dessert... 



Preparation time : 30 min
Serves - 4 people.


                  Makes about 25 Gulab jamuns depends on size.


Ingredients:

Khova/Khoya - 1 1/2 cup
Maida (all purpose flour) - 1 cup
Sugar - 3cups
Water - 1cup
Milk - 1/4 cup
Candamom powder - 1/4 tbsp
Baking Soda - 1/4 tbsp
Saffron Strands (optional ) - 5-7
Rose essence - 1tbsp/ 3 drops
Oil for deep fry.



How to Make It:


1. Combine and heat Water,Sugar in a thick bottomed vessel till sugar gets dissolved under low flame

2. Add Rose water,Candamom powder,Saffron strands keep syrup on low flame.


3. Heat oil in kadai. Or we can use Ghee and Oil in Equal mixture to get the rich traditional taste of Jamuns.


4. In a bowl mix Maida,Khova,Baking Soda and little amount of water/Milk to knead the dough.


5. Mix well and divide the dough into equal parts.


6. Greese the Palm with Ghee and make Jamuns of small lemon size.Make sure that no cracks are formed.


7. Gently place Jamuns in Oil for Deep fry.


8. Wait till they turn into Golden brown and transfer them to Sugar syrup.


9. Allow Jamuns to rest in syrup for about 1 hr so that Jamuns size gets doubled.








Tips:


1. While making the Jamuns make sure that No cracks are formed on the surface.

2. Maintain Medium flame while frying the Jamuns otherwise Jamuns will get burnt outside and becomes hard.


3. Too much baking soda can cause Jamuns to get disintegrate from oil.





Can Be served with Kulfi / Ice Cream of your desired Flavour...
