Malai Kofta Curry

Preparation time :45 min
Serving - 5



Ingredients:


For Koftas:


Bread slices - 3

Crumbled Paneer - 1/2 cup
Potatoes( boiled and smashed)- 3 Medium
Carrot ( boiled and smashed) - 2 
Raisins /Kismish - 7-8
Chopped Cashew - 8
Finely chopped Green chillies - 1 tbsp
Coriander/Dhania Powder - 1tbsp
Red chilli powder - 1tbsp
Salt to taste
Sugar - 1tbsp
Cumin powder -1 tbsp
Candamon Powder - 1tbsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1tbsp
Lemon juice - 1 1/2 tbsp
Black Pepper powder to taste.
Bread Crumbs - 4 tbsp



For Gravy:


3tbsp of Butter /Ghee
Oil for Deep fry
Tomatoes - 5 medium
Onions - 3 medium
Ginger -garlic paste - 1tbsp
Coriander leaves to garnish
Cornflour - 1tbsp
Green chilli - 1 tbsp
Sugar - 1tbsp
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
Dhania powder - 1/2 tbsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tbsp
Cloves - 4
Cinnamon Stick - 1" inch
Zeera /Cumin seeds - 1tbsp
Cashew paste - 3 tbsp
Poppy seeds - 2tbsp



Method:


Koftas:


1. In a bowl crush the Bread slices,Smashed potatoes,carrot and mix all the other ingredients well and make it a dough.

2. With the oiled hands divide the dough into 12- 14 equal parts.


3. Heat oil in a pan as required for deep fry.


4. Spread bread crumbs on the floor.Dip the koftas in the bread crumbs and gently place the koftas into oil .


5. Fry the koftas till they turn into Golden brown color.


6. Place the koftas on absorbent paper.



Gravy:


1. Heat oil in kadai add poppy seeds,Cumin seeds,Cloves,Cinnamon stick let them pop.

2. Meanwhile boil tomatoes for about 5-6 min in a thick bottomed vessel with a pinch of salt.Let them boil.After 5 min drain tomatoes from water and peel them.Grind the tomatoes to make into puree.


3. Now add chopped onions saute them till they turn into transparent color add Tomato puree,Salt,Sugar,Dhania,Red chilli,Garam masala,Ginger - garlic paste,Green chilli.


4. Now add Cashew paste Adjust salt and Red chilli powder as per  

 requirement .Add water if necessary.

5. Add 1tbsp of cornflour to water (so that no lumps are formed) to the gravy mix them well let it cook for 4-5 min till the gravy gets thickend and aroma pops up.


6. Turn off the flame and Garnish with Coriander leaves.


7. This delicious dish can be served by adding koftas to the gravy.




Tips:

       
           Sprinkle the Grated cheese on the top of the dish for extra toppings.

             

                              Add koftas just before serving otherwise koftas will turn soggy.




                                  Can be served with Naan/Roti/Pulao
